Thorn Construction Bids Low on Provo Sewage Job Thorn Construction Co. of this city was low bidder by $10,000 below be-low the lowest for drains and embankments em-bankments at the sewage treatment treat-ment plant for Provo, it was announced an-nounced this week. This company bid $47,945 compared com-pared with other bids listed as follows: fol-lows: Ross Construction Co., $58,-410; $58,-410; Ralph E. Child, $58,435; The Young and Smith Construction Co., $60,810; Strong Company, $63,-312.50: $63,-312.50: W. W. Clyde Company, $79,661 and Davis and Butler Co., $80,624. Commissioners explained that the low bid by Thorn's was due perhaps to the closeness to the job of the company gravel pits cutting cut-ting cost of transportation of fill for the embankments. Each bid will be checked before the contract is awarded.
