Show Devils Travel to Pleasant Grove Friday For Final League Grid Game Coach George Pehrson's outstanding Red Devil gridders will travel to Pleasant grove for their final grid game of the league schedule Friday afternoon beginning at 2:30. The game will be the final tilt of the season unless un-less the Lehi club can defeat the unbeaten BY High team, and providing pro-viding the Devils get over Pleasant Plea-sant Grove. Mathematically, the region could end in a three-way tie should the Y high lose, and Springville and Lincoln each win. Other possibilities possibili-ties all based on the "if BY High loses" are that Lincoln could be eliminated by American Fork and Springville be eliminated by Pleasant Plea-sant Grove. In that event the Y high team would be champ regardless regard-less of a win or loss. More sound reasoning and evaluation from previous pre-vious games of the season favor BY High to defeat Lehi and thus win the title without a single loss. Springville should get past a weaker P. G. eleven and Lincoln is favored over A. P. Devil Tops ... Coaches George Pehrson, Alma Garrett, and Dee Sanford who have done a cooperative and outstanding outstand-ing job in coaching a greenling squad, have brought the team to American Fork Cavemen under control throughout the entire game last Friday to win a clear-cut 14-0 victory. From the opening kickoff by the visitors, Springville took over on a pass to Francis, they stood on the A. F. 30 yard line. They were held on downs and had to kick. After the Forkers attempted attemp-ted to return the punt and fumbled, the Devils recovered on the 10. It took two plays for tricky Don Watts to go over standing up on his reversespecialty run. The extra point was made by Watts on an end run. The second quarter saw Springville Spring-ville holding possession of the ball for the most part but failed to score. The other score came early in the third quarter after Springville Spring-ville intercepted a pass on the A. F. 30 yard line after alternating running plays with Thorn and Hales and then made another first down before hitting paydirt again for his second TD of the game. Hales converted again on an end run. A brilliant run by Hales near the end of the puarter put the ball on AF's 30. Springville threatened in the final fin-al quarter, getting to the 25 yard line but no scoring was made as the gain ended the 14-0 contest. Springville's line play looked very good and Watts' smart ball running netted the Devils outstanding out-standing gains as did those of Hales, Thorn and Carter. Tackling looked good and the Devils' pass defense clicked. the top for final play. They have developed the club into a formidable formid-able eleven, exhibiting top team spirit and fight that has welded them together as a unit both' offensively of-fensively and defensively to ever power even larger apponents in play.
