Show Navyman Writes Appreciation For Home Town Paper October 11, 1952 Dear Editor: I'm writing in regards to the Springville Herald and wish to thank you for sending it to me. I really enjoy- reading it because it's about the only way you have of knowing what's going on at home. I've been here in San Francisco aboard the U.S.S. Manchester since I left boot training the last part of June. My ship has been here in the yard getting repainted and other major repairs. Our yard period is about ended and then we go down the coast for underway training which lasts until the end of December after which we will probably go to Korea and Japan. Once again I wish to thank you for sending me the Herald. Sincerely yours, LYLE E. DAVIES, 7th Division, U.S.S. Manchester Man-chester CL-83, In care of Fleet Post Office,'' San Francisco, Calif. |
