Show Community Dance Party Planned for Young People Here for Hallowe'en Realizing that wholesome entertainment enter-tainment and proper direction of youthful energies will often eliminate elimi-nate or decrease truancy and vandalism van-dalism among young people, the Springville 20-30 Club and the Boy Scouts will sponsor the first Grand Hallowe'en night, at Memorial Hall. Announcement of the forthcoming forthcom-ing Hallowe'en entertainment for young people from the ages of 12 to 18 years, was made by Elwood Loveridge, Scout Commissioner, who itated that the City Recreation Recrea-tion committee was seeking sponsors spon-sors for the affair and officers of the two groups volunteered to take charge of arrangements. Initial plans for the dance party were made at a recent meeting cf Scout, 20-30 and recreational leaders, lea-ders, including: H. M. Weight, Floyd Stewart, Elwood Loveridge, R. L. Wilson, Omar Hansen, Joe Miller and Carl Curtis. With entertainment planned for every boy and girl from 12 to 18 years in Springville, the committee commit-tee will give prizes for the best Hallowe'en costume at the dance; also for the best dressed spook; the best home-made costume and the funniest costume. There will be door prizes galore given away during the evening. As each one enters the hall, he will be given a ticket and the lucky tickets will get prizes at the end of each dance. Also throughout the evening, there will be showers of free candy. Several booths will be built around the hall in which pop-corn, cider and other soft drinks will be sold during the evening. Possibly a fortune teller and other forms of entertainment will be provided, between dances. The hall will be specially decorated deco-rated for the occasion with corn-shocks, corn-shocks, pumpkins and jack-o-lan-terns . Everything will be arranged for the entertainment of all and it is hoped by the sponsoring organizations organiza-tions that acts of vandalism will be eliminated in return for the community party given for the young people of the town. |
