Show lound- 'n-s4bout 'ZJown . . . JMr. and Mrs. F. C. Packard returned re-turned Friday of last week from Chicago, 111., where they spent a week in attendance at the American Ameri-can Bank Associations National Agriculture Credit conference. They went to and from Chicago by plane and while there also heard the Chicago Symphony, the New Yoi-k Civic opera and several stage productions. Ornal (Swede) Nielson of Concord, Con-cord, Calif., formerly of Springville, Spring-ville, is in the hospital as result of a heart attack and pneumonia, according to word received by members of his family in Springville. Spring-ville. He has been in the hospital about ten days and on Tuesday of last week, his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Roth-well Roth-well of Leslie, Ida., and another daughter, Mrs. Una Strange of Spanish Fork went to Concord to see him. A phone call from them early this week stated that he was still critically ill but was a little improved. Mr. Nilson has been in California about a year and a half and at the time of his illness was employed in a sports shop. Blr. and Mrs. R. A. Oldroyd of Brookside have had Mrs. O'droyd's mother, Mrs. Bertha Herbert of Salina visiting them. On Wednesday Wednes-day of last week, a sister and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan Bucha-nan of Roosevelt visited at the Oldroyd home and Mrs. Herbert accompanied them home for a two-weeks visit. Mrs. F. C. Packard of Springville Spring-ville attended the state board meeting of the Utah State Federation Feder-ation of Music Clubs at Logan Sunday. Mrs. Packard is state vice-president. She was accompanied accompan-ied by her husband. Attending the meeting also were Dr. and Mrs. John R. Halliday and Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Mensel of Provo, the latter being state president. Ida Worthen, in company with her niece and husband, Dr. anc Mrs. Wm. W. Nebeker of Salt Lake ' City, left Tuesday" morning foi Tucson, Ariz., where they planned to spend the Thanksgiving holiday's with Dr. and Mrs. Nebeker's sor ; and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Robert Nebeker. They will be gone ; about a week. |
