Show Open House Sunday Will Honor Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dougall Open house will be held on Sunday, November 26, honoring honor-ing Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dougall, well-known Springville couple, on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. The party will be held at the family residence, 112 East Second North, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., and the couple requests no gifts. Mr. Dougall was born in Springville, November 17, 1874. a son oT early pioneer settlers, Hugh M. and Mary Catherine Streeper Dougall, and has made his home here practically his entire life. Shortly after their marriage November 28, 1900, Mr. Dougall was appointed Springville postmaster by President Theodore Roosevelt, a position he held for several years. During Dur-ing his early life, also, he was in charge of surveying outfits for the U. S. Land Office and traveled throughout (he state. In later years, he became a successful farmer and stockman in which work he is still engaged. Mrs. Harriett Wheeler Dougall was also born in Spuing-ville, Spuing-ville, January 1. 1877, a daughter of Samuel and Ellen Kelsey Wheeler. She has always been a leader in civic, religious and educational activities. She is an alumni of the University of Utah, attending the school, when it was on the site of the old West high school in Salt Lake City. For a number of years, she taught school. Mrs. Dougall was a member of the committee which sponsored spon-sored the erection of the Pioneer Mother, by Cy rus E. Dall in on the City Park. She has served as captain and secretary of the Springville D. U. P. Camp and has also held positions in the Utah county and the Central DUP organization. She has served as a president of Relief Society and has also been a Relief Society teacher. For a number of years, she assisted with child welfare clinic work and also did considerable work in the Red Cross. The couple are parents of five sons and daughters with four living as follows: Hugh J. and William Bernard Dougall of Springville; Josephine D. Robison of Lehi; Dr. John M. Dougall of Houston, Texas.
