Show Forum . . . The Day Before Mothers Day Springville witnessed a wonderful wonder-ful sight last Saturday evening in the business district. I was relaxing in my car while my four small children were Mothers Moth-ers Day shopping when my interest inter-est was arrouse. Never had I seen so many people and their children together. Then I realized a wonderful thing was happening. Fathers! Fathers and their children, chil-dren, (mind you not more than two children to a Father), were taking their children shopping. The look on their faces was something to behold. Some had little daughters all dressed up with pink ribbon in their hair. Others had sons, so proud to be with dad. These Fathers Fath-ers had given their boys money for their small hands were held tight. Their walk was strong and their eyes popping. Then the Fathers with sons and daughters, what a thrill they must have felt as they showed this Father Fath-er and that Father how much their children had grown. The joy of holding each small hand filled their faces with happiness. There were also Fathers who were tired, whose faces held no light, who hurried these little fellows fel-lows so they could go home. These , Fathers, , thank goodness, were very few. Fathers, Fathers on this Saturday Satur-day evening were doing their duty and a wonderful one. They were showing the world and their maker what a happy family could mean to them. Their faces were full of pride. Happiness filled our sidewalks side-walks for jumping small feet were pounding on it Oh, Yes, the drug stores were full. These Fathers were giving their children a treat. My heart swelled with joy every time a Father would enter the store. My children also came back full of chatter and all happy. That hour of relaxing in my car was well spent. Mothers, next Mothers Day remember re-member in this beautiful town of ours a wonderful thing is happening. happen-ing. You are being honored and your children are getting much closer to their Fathers. Fathers, keep the good work up. Twilla Newbury |
