In impressive rites in the Manti LDS temple Thursday of last week pretty Miss Bene Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Hales of this city and Lee Frandsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frandsen also of Springville Spring-ville were married. President Lewis R. Anderson performed the ceremony. On Friday evening, June 25, the newlyweds received their relatives and friends at a reception in the Second-Eighth ward church. The bride was lovely in a chapel length wedding gown of imported Chantilly lace over nylon tulle and satin, with lace scallops toward the back of the dress revealing four tiers of nylon pleated tulle in front. Her veil of nylon tulle was trimmed in Chantilly lace and was fashioned to a head-piece of pearls and rhinestones. Her bouquet was of white orchids or-chids and stephanotis with white satin ribbon streamers. Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Zella Singelton and as bridesmaids were Miss Donna Jean Crandall, Miss Kay Groesbeck, Mrs. LuAnn Olsen, Miss Carol Friel and Miss Ann Frandsen. Their gowns were of brocaded taffeta, three of pink and three of green and they held nose-gays bouquets of pink and white split carnations with white satin streamers. Attending the groom as best man was Jay Liechty. Others in the receiving line were parents of the bride and groom, Mrs. Hales appearing in a pink lace and linen dress and Mrs. Frandsen choosing a dusty pink lace. Both wore orchid corsages. The guest register was in charge of Evelyn Frandsen and in charge of the gift display were Mrs. Frank Crandall, Mrs. David Friel, Mrs. Earl Groesbeck, Mrs. Floyd McPherson and Mrs. Ray McKen-zie. McKen-zie. The guests were served on small tables under direction of Mrs. Margaret Smith assisted by Naomi Na-omi Boyer, Kay Holley, Ruth Ann Boyer, Marjorie Hatfield, Joyce Hatfield, Alberta Wilmott and Carolyn Clark. Organ music entertained the guests throughout the evening and floral decorations in pink and white added a touch of beauty to the wedding scene. The couple spent a honeymoon in the Southern Utah Parks and in Las Vegas returning to St. George where they attended a session in the LDS temple. Lee has now returned to the Pacific coast where he is serving with the Coast Guard. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Frandsen. nee llene hales |
