They spent one day at Grand Junction and another at Mesa Verde National Na-tional Park. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jones who have been making their home in Texas are guests at the home of her mother Mrs. Mabel Hopla. Mrs Jones is the former Margene Hopla Hop-la and will spend the summer with her mother. Mr. Jones will go to Las Vegas where he will be employed em-ployed as a CPA. Mr. and Mrs. R.' W. Davidson entertained a group of friends at a canyon supper Saturday night in Provo canyon. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer W. Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Horsepool of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Binks, Roscoe Davis and Mr and Mrs. Ross Hall of Mapleton. Mrs. Inez Harmer is convalescing convalesc-ing from a major operation at the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City which she underwent on Saturday Sat-urday July 3. Mr. and Mrs. James Perry of Salt Lake City were dinner guests of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Parley Par-ley Perry Sunday. . , ' Mrs. Dorthy Sample of Monte Vista, Colorado has been a guest of her sister and her husband Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Nielson. She brought her two small neices Patricia Pa-tricia and Susan Hall, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hall, home. They had spent the last two weeks as guests at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bown (Ferl) of Milford spent Thursday at the L. A. Nielson home. They were on their way to Grand Junction, Colorado Colo-rado where they plan to visit with a sister of Mr. Bown's. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Whiting of Las Vegas, Nevada are spending several days at the home of her' parents Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Nielson. Niel-son. They are enroute to Yellowstone Yellow-stone for a vacation trip. ' The Mapleton ward enjoyed an annual outing at Kelley's Grove Tuesday evening under the direction direc-tion of the MIA. Each family brought a picnic supper which was eaten early in the evening after which a fine program was given with Floyd Tuttle acting as master mas-ter of ceremonies. Assisting him with arrangements was Afton Barker. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Johnson and and family of Hanna, Wyo., spent the weekend at Mapleton visiting at the home ,of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Johnson. |
