The current culinary water shortage at Mapleton will be somewhat alleviated soon as more water has been obtained in a new cross-cut at the bottom of the South Fork and from the A and B springs and will be put in the water system in the very near future, it was announced today. In the meantime, all residents of Mapleton have been put on a new one-and-a-half hour sprinkling sprink-ling schedule instead of two hours and a warning issued that all must adhere to the schedule or receive a citation. The new schedule states that all property owners on the north side of the street will sprinkle from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and those on the east side of the streets from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; the south sides from 6 to 7:30 a.m. and the west sides from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Permission for any deviation from the schedule must be registered regis-tered with Fay Jensen. The water schedule was worked out at the council meeting Tuesday Tues-day evening, at which city officials offic-ials also decided to go along with the Utah county cities in assisting assist-ing with the county child guidance guid-ance clinic. The city heads also voted to join the crusade to abandon unused un-used ice boxes and other safety hazards. A committee has been appointed to work out details for a miniature minia-ture parade for the July 24th celebration. cele-bration. They include Reed Bennett, Ben-nett, Joe Carnesecca, Bob White, Glen Martin and Dorothy Booth. They will meet at 8 p.m. Monday to work out details. |
