Show LOCAL COUPLE ARE MARRIED FIFTY YEARS Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Weight ' "enjoyed a' " double ' celebration last week when they observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary anniver-sary and attended the state encampment en-campment of Indian War veterans vet-erans and Utah Pioneers, at. Spanish Fork. Talks by pioneers and other entertainment features brought vividly to their minds conditions prevalent during the early married mar-ried life. Mr. and Mrs. Weight had their camp in Spanish Fork, and while no special observance of their wedding day was held at the time, many relatives, friends and fellow campers extended felicitations. They were married in Springville, Aug. 10, 1887. Born in Springville, May 7, 1866, Mr. Weight has lived here the greater part of his life, following fol-lowing the occupation of farming farm-ing and stock raising. He was among the first to convert the canyon territory east of here ' into farm land and for many years has been interested in ranching in that vicinity. He has been active in L. D. S. church work, being a high priest at the present time. He is a son of the early pio-. pio-. neers, Frederick and Elizabeth Bocock Weight. Mrs. Weight, also of pioneer . parentage, was born in Springville, Spring-ville, November 13. 1867. She is a daughter of Hubbard and Susan Childs Noakes, and has lived here always. She takes part in church work, especially the Relief Society organization in which she has served as a teacher teach-er many years. The couple have a daughter and five sons, Nell Weight, ; teacher in Salt Lake City schools, Arch Weight, Salt Lake City, and William, Willis, Ernest, and Nolan Weight, Springville; also 21 grandchildren. |
