Show .) n Rehabilitation Of Eastern Colorado By Water Planned DENVER, Aug. 17 (U.n) The Plainsmen's Association will discuss dis-cuss the restoration of eastern Colorado farming areas through the use of small reservoirs and other water retention devices at its first annual convention here Aug. 25. Officials of the association said an attempt would be made to interest both the state and national na-tional governments in the promotion promo-tion of well pumping, construction construc-tion of small dams and reservoirs and the "Peacock" method of "basin forming cultivation" to ward off the drought conditions of the plains farms which have resulted in considerable loss to the farmers in recent years. Charles T. Peacock, who devised de-vised a system of cultivation involving in-volving dammed furrows which retain rainfall, will be among the delegates. |
