Show Afternoon and Evening Full of Entertainment Is Plan of Committee Everything Is in readiness for the annual outing of Kolob stake to be held Wednesday, August 25, under the supervision of the M. I. A. From 2 to 5 p. m.. at the city park an elaborate program will be presented by the children in addition to sports, for young and old. This phase of the entertainment is under the direction of E. S. Groesbeck and Miss Geraldine Eggertson and will undoubtedly prove entertaining entertain-ing to everyone. It also marks the close of the summer recreational recrea-tional activities for the children. The afternoon will begin with a children's play "King Groog and His Grouch," which will be presented on the lawn. This play will be given by a group of students from one of the summer sum-mer dramatic art classes. Following the play, the parents will go to see the exhibitions of the art-work and handicraft that the children have been making throughout the summer. Many contests will be conducted conduct-ed for the children including all the games in which they have participated all summer. Some of these contests ..are; .checkers. cioquet and building, clay built;, ing, horseshoe. jacks, hopscotch, mumblepeg and Jump-the-rope. Prizes will be given to the winners win-ners of these contests. The little girls are asked to bring their dolls once more, so their mothers can see what a real doll party is like. Then to finish the day. there is going to be a big surprise for the children. So every child in Springville from ages 3 to 13 are invited to come to the park that day, enter in any contest, or contests they wish, and enjoy en-joy the activities, prizes, and big-surprise big-surprise with their friends. All parents are invited to come and enjoy being the onlookers to their children's good time. After the children's entertainment entertain-ment at the park, lunch will be enjoyed by those wishing to participate par-ticipate during the hours from 5 to 7 p. m. At 7 p. m., at the high school, a cantata, "Strange Visitors," will be presented by the stake primary organizations with about 100 children taking part. Especial Espec-ial effort has been put forth to make this affair entertaining. Elaborate costumes will add to the dance and music numbers. All are invited to attend. After the cantata at the high school everyone will go to the city ball park where various forms of entertainment is being planned to include a program and ball game. Transportation for all those who have no way of travel will be provided from the high school to the park. The program is under the direction di-rection of M. W. Bird, Hugh Baxter. Maude Peterson and Pearl Gore. The ball games both of which will be exhibition games are scheduled between the stake high council and the ward bishopric, with the following lineup for the latter: A. G. Peterson, Frank Sanford, Edward Boyer, Farrel Hatch, William Witney, Maurice Metcalf, Fred Smith, Howard Salisbury. Leo Robertson, Solon Wood. Frank Jensen, Dallas Holley Hol-ley and Freeman Bird. The stake team will he organized under the direction or J. Fmmett Bird. Alter the high priests' and bishopric game, the Z.C.M.I. of Salt Lake" City will play the American Legion. |
