Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Cook of this city, to Miss Delia Haws, daughter daugh-ter of W. M. Haws of Provo, which took place at the home of the bride's parents Friday, March 2. Following' the ceremony a reception recep-tion was held with members of the two immediate families as guests. . Last Saturday evening the couple were guests of honor at a dinner given by the parents of the groom for members of the two families. A number of socials have been given by friends of the bride at Provo. the home of Mrs. Alice Ence. A I tasty luncheon was served after j which progressive "Michigan" was j played. Mrs. Madge Leyshon won high score favor, Mrs. Carrie Tripp the guest prize and Mrs. Hazel Bird, the consolation. Others present were Mrs. Vivian Averett, Mrs. Grace Richmond, Mrs. Marie Stone, Mrs. Norma Holmes, Mrs. Margaret Wing, Mrs. Wilda Oakley, Mrs. Orlin Ash, Mrs. Mary Averett, Mrs. Bertha Conover, Mrs. Arthur Sanford, the latter two being guests. The Mothers Study club will meet Friday with Mrs. Bulcah Whiting. In addition to the program, pro-gram, officers for the coming t i year will be elected. All members ; are invited to be present. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Knudsen entertained en-tertained at a family dinner at their home last Sunday, complimentary compli-mentary to the former's mother, Mrs. Amanda Knudsen of Provo whose birthday was that day. Boorman entertained the members of her card club at her home Thursday night. A tasty luncheon followed the games. Mrs. Daisy Southworth of San Francisco, Calif., returned from Magna, here the past week and will spend a few days with relatives rela-tives and friends before returning home. The marriage of Miss Blanch Ostler of this city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Ostler, to Albert J. Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Palmer took place Friday, Fri-day, February 23, in the Salt Lake temple. The young couple will reside in Salt Lake. Mrs. Emily Jensen entertained members of the Mar Kese Card club of Provo at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Following bridge at which Mrs. Gwen Vincent won A large group of Spring-ville people including about 25 couples attended the annual Black Hawk entertainment at Spanish Fork, Wednesday night. Among the Springville and Mapleton people who gave program numbers were: Glen and Harold Holley, the Mapleton Glee club and Jack and Louise Evans. It was announced during the program that the state Black Hawk encampment would be held in Springville, August 14, 15, 16, 17. Members of the N. I. P. club will be guests of Mrs. Sarabell Stewart Saturday evening, March 10. All are asked to be present at 8 o'clock. Mrs. E. A. Strong entertained at a lovely birthday party Wednesday Wed-nesday for her son John who is nine years old. A delightful time was spent with games and a tasty lunch was served to Pauline Claudin, Norma Gene Lee, Fred and Allen Crandall, Maurine Child, Glenn Alleman, Pat and Peggy Gahagan, Phylis Bramall, Melva Strong, Jay Grant, Alton Sumsion and Lamar Crandall.
