Show 40,000 LAMBS SHIPPED FROM SPRINGVILLE With approximately 40,000 head of lambs shipped from Springville and Mapleton the past several months, lamb feeders in this vincinity have completed their shipments for this season. -Wendell Mendenhall and Myron Childs, with the largest yards, have fed about 15,000 head, during the past season. The feeding experiment is begun in September and continues over a period of from 60 to 120 days, it is stated. The shipments, this year, were consigned to Omaha, Los Angeles San Francisco, Denver and Ogden markets, with the prices ranging from 6 to 9V cents per pound. Lamb .feeding is fast becoming becom-ing one of the most important industries in this vicinity. Taking the trend of the times into consideration con-sideration it is rated, by feeders as successful, this year. The Iambs are fed from self feeders used in practically all yards. A ration of alfalfa, sugar beet pulp and molasses, and grains especially corn has proven most profitable. |
