Show iSOCETY NEVS selections. A tasty lunch was served to eighteen members and two guests. One of the most successful and well aranged socials of the past week was the golden wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Packard, held Friday afternoon and early evening at their home, j The daughters by marriage were in charge of the . program and other dctails'of .the party, assisted by the .grand-daughters. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Packard and members of their immediate family. A program of string music was furnished during dur-ing the evening by Miss Hazel Anderson and company. In addition addi-tion to guests numbering about 200 who called during the party, Mr." and Mrs. Packard received numerous . messages from friends from near and far who were un-J able to attend. An attractive and appropriate color scheme in golden gold-en yellow was carried out throughout through-out the party. The dining table was centered with yellow roses with tall yellow tapers arranged at either side. Daffodils, yellow, bells and other spring blossoms added to the decorative color scheme of the party. ' Mrs. Alvin H. , Anderson of Tremonton spent last week with her mother, Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall 1 here. Mr. and Mrs. B. Harold Mendenhall of Salt Lake, were week-end guests also of Mr. and Mrs. Mendenhall. Mr., and Mrs. M. O: Packard of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Eliza to Rodney Taylor of Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were here to attend at-tend the golden wedding anniversary anni-versary celebration of Mrs. Taylor's Tay-lor's parents Friday and left Monday Mon-day for a wedding trip to Canada. They plan to spend a short time here on their return to California. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Packard entertained at a family dinner at their home Sunday. Covers were arranged for: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rus-sell Packard, and Lois Packard of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Packard of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Packard of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Packard of Rock Springs, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Packard of this city. .. j Ava Delma club members were guests of Mrs. Mark E. Tripp Wednesday evening. Mrs. Arvil , Ence, Mrs. Elsie Robison, Mrs. j Mabel Simkins and Mrs. Birdie , Thorpe who is visiting here from j Bristol, Nev. were guests. After j an 8 o'clock luncheon, bridge was ! played with Mrs. Robison winning' guest favor and Mrs. Virginia , Harker ,club prize. Mrs. Lee Bates left recently to join her husband to make their home indefinitely in California. Dr. and Mrs. George A. Anderson Ander-son were in Salt Lake last week, to attend the American College of Surgeons convention. A .review of the book, "Johna-than "Johna-than Bishop," by Miss Carol Bird featured a meeting of the Home Culture club Saturday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. H. M. Dougall. Mrs. C. E. Eggertson, president was in charge. Mrs. C. O. Claudin was appointed delegate to the First district . convention of Federal Fed-eral Women's clubs at Ncphi Sat-: urday with Mrs. L. E. Otteson as. alternate. Lunch was served at the close of the meeting to twenty members and guests. J A number of friends delightfully delight-fully surprised Lawrence Reynolds at his home Friday evening, the occasion being his birthday.
