Show PIONEERS OBSERVE 50 ANNIVERSARY This week is a memorable onei in the life of John V. Wordsworth, Words-worth, ' pioneer resident of this 'city. On Tuesday he "and Mrs. Wordsworth quietly, on ac count of Mrs. Wordsworth's-health, observed their fifty-eighth wedding wed-ding anniversary, while Friday Mr. Wordsworth will be eighty-two eighty-two years old. Born in Alpine, Utah, March 9, .1852, Mr. Wordsworth has spent the greater part of his life here. His parents, William S. and Nancy A. Vance Wordsworth were pioneers of 1847. He has taken an active part in L. D. S. church work, filling two missions in the Northwestern states and three at home. He has served as a counselor in the First ward M. I. A. and also as teacher in the Sunday school of that ward. Mrs. Wordsworth was ,-orn here, August 3, 1855, a daughter of Amos S. and Abbie Childs Warren. War-ren. Her father was an Indian interpreter for the government in early days. She has also taken an active part in church work. She served as primary president in the First ward for a number bf years and was active in Relief society work. 1 The couple were married here, March 6, 1876. They have three children, Mrs. D. O. Ashcraft, Springville; Vance E. Wordsworth Vallejo, Calif. and Clarence Wordsworth Hollywood, Calif; also 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. |
