Show 3 . Am. Legion Gives Armistice Day Program at II. S. Sponsored by the Sprtngville post American Legion, an Armistice Arm-istice day program was given at the high school last Friday. Approximately 2 0 0 students, members of the Legion and auxiliary aux-iliary attended. Frank Edman of Salem, Worm war veteran, who saw action early during the war, gave a vivid picture of the horrors and privations suffered by soldiers from all countries at the front, impressing upon students and others in attendance, t'he futility of war. The Legion auxiliary chorus, under direction of Guy Brown, gave a selection, "God Bless America." Am-erica." with piano accompaniment accompani-ment by Mrs. Mary Witney, and Dick Neill sang, "Sleep, Soldier Boy." after which taps were sounded and the colors retired. The program was in charge of Commander Paul Frandsen ot the local post American Legion. |
