Mrs. VVilma Hansen Young wishes to announce that she wilt give private instruction in dramatic dra-matic art and expression. Mrs. Young is a graduate of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university where she majored in dramatic art, also received her teaching certificate in dramatic art from the Chicago Musical college and hai spent, the past year studying at St. Louis, Missouri. White and children of Greenriver, Wyo., who arc visiting relatives here and in Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird entertained at a famiiy canyon party Monday. Crandall and children of Boise, Ida. were weekend week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Crandall and other relatives and friends in Provo. this community. During her early life she devoted considerable con-siderable time to nursing among the sick of her vicinity. Her husband hus-band died in 1901 and she was left with a family of amall children chil-dren to support. Of eight children chil-dren she has six living. She also has 19 grandchildren grand-children and six great grandchildren. grand-children. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wingate and family with Dr. and Mrs. Henry Rose and Mrs. Minnie Hartline of Los Angeles, Calif., and Robert and Hal Meakin of Salt Lake City have spent the past week camping in Hobble Creek canyon. Dr. Rose was a former principal and athletic coach at the Springville Spring-ville high school. Mrs. Grace Stubbs and son of Ogden are spending their vacation with Mrs. Stubb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eastham Clegg in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence K. Smith and son Joe, have just returned from an enjoyable trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone National park. They also spent some time with Mr. Smith's mother, Mrs. Janet Smith at Rock Springs, Wyo., and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Selck, former for-mer residents of this city, ' at Manan, Idaho. Members of the LaConda club from Springville and Provo entertained enter-tained at an enjoyable social Thursday afternoon at Riverside park. It was giiesi day and each member invited a special guest. Best a member of the club who was recently married. Five tables of Monte Carlo Whist furnished pleasant entertainment during the evening. Mrs. Leola Ewing and children have just returned from an enjoyable en-joyable visit with relatives and friends in Idaho. The regular meeting of the Legion auxiliary will be held August 12, at Memorial hall under the direction of President Bell Sumsion. Delegates to the state Legion and auxiliary convention the latter part of August in Salt Lake City will be selected and an excellent program is also arranged for the occasion. In honor of Mrs. Phoebe Singleton, Single-ton, widow of Hercules Singleton Single-ton and a pioneer resident of this community, whose . eighty first j birthday was Wednesday, mem-1 mem-1 bers of her family entertained at a social at her home in the evening. eve-ning. She received lovely gifts during the day in addition to many calls and messages of congratulation, con-gratulation, -oocral chai and music i were enjoyed. Mrs. Singleton was born here July 29, 1S55. Her father David Curtis came to Utah with the Brigham Young company and her mother, Mrs. Lutitia Shearer Curtis Cur-tis arrived here a year later. Mrs. Singleton has taken an active pari in religious and civic affairs of 1 - |
