Show DELEGATION OFF FOR BLACK HAWK GAMP AT CEDAR Approximately two hundred citizens including members of the high school band left early Tuesday morning for Cedar City to attend the annual Black Hawk Indian War veteran encampment, August 4, 5, 6 and 7., Several buses were engaged for transportation of the band members mem-bers and others wishing to make the trip. The veterans and pioneers pio-neers of the community were taken in private cars while tents and other camping equipment were trucked to the southern city. Through the cooperation of the local Black Hawk committee and the city the band members and the veterans and pioneers are being be-ing taken to the encampment free of charge. The band members will also be taken on a side trip to the canyons near Cedar City, Captain M. F. Miner said. The Springville delegation plan to form a miniature tent city at the encampment, having reserved space for tents to accommodate the large group. Mrs. Milessa Messenger, 93, who took first honors at the celebration at Nephi last year, will accompany .. the Springville group and expects to take old age honors at the encampment en-campment again this year. |
