Provo city commissioners Monday night reduced the city tax levy from the 10 mills of 1934 to 17.50 mills, a decrease of 1 and lAi mills. The city levy, however, is still 2.20 mills higher than it was in l!f33, when it was 15.30 mills. Taxes will be lower in Provo city this year, not only because of the city reduction, but because the school board also came down 1 and V mills in its levy and the state levy is down mill. No Slate Koad Levy County taxes will also be lower, although no decrease was made in the general county funds. The reason is that there will be no one-mill levy in the state road as there wras last year. Provo residents can therefore look forward to the prospect ol paying property taxes lighter than for several years. The total levy for all purposes last year was 53.50 mills in Provo. This yeai the total levy will be approximate-ly approximate-ly 48.50 mills, a reduction of 5 mills.
