A group of friends enjoyed a cooked dinner in the canyon on Sunday. Included in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Averett, Helen Wheeler, Dwaine Spafford, Jean Ullock and Bert Brown. A group of friends delightfully surprised Alene Roylance at her home Saturday night, on the occasion of her birthday. In honor of the young couple, a wedding reception will be given Saturday night at the Ladies' clubhouse in Provo, for which a large number num-ber of invitations have been sent to relatives and friends. An interesting meeting of the Mothers' Study club was held Friday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. Margaret Huntington. The program featured music and drama, with President Philda Fin-ley Fin-ley in charge. Miss Dama Grant in splendid manner gave a one-act one-act play, "In a Florist Shop." Students from the 'high school also entertained with music as follows: vocal solo, Ferron Heat-on, Heat-on, Melba Merriot, Grant Clyde, Reed Jones and Tess Cherring-ton; Cherring-ton; vocal duet, Virginia and Genevieve Bird. Helen Nelson was accompanist. Following the program pro-gram a tasty lunch was served by the hostess to a large group present. The Mother's Day program to be given ty the Mothers' Study club is set for Friday, May 12. at the home of Mrs. Maude Thorn, beginning at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Marl Snelson of this city is visiting her sister and other relatives and friends in Denver. Mr. Snelson plans to go to Denver Den-ver soon for a short visit and will accompany his wife home.
