Show Attractions At The Theaters "REUNION" STORY EMOTIONALLY RICH Surprise follows surprise in the emotionally rich and real screen play written by Sam Hellman, Gladys Lehman and Sonya Levien for the Dionne Quins' second Twentieth Century-Fox picture "Reunion" the dramatic homecoming home-coming of the Country Doctor's 3,000 grown-up "babies" opening Friday at the Ritz theater. Jean Hersholt, who played the backwoods doctor in the first Quins film, is featured in the new picture together with Rochelle Hudson, Helen Vinson, Slim Sum-merville, Sum-merville, Robert Kent, John Qua-len Qua-len and Dorothy Peterson. "SHOW BOAT" SWEEPS EMOTIONS LIKE RUSHING MISSISSIPPI TIDE This ' review of "Show Boat" which opens Friday at the Rivoli theater, should be set to music keyed to the tempo of the Universal Univer-sal picture. But there is no local Jerome Kern or Oscar Hammer-stein Hammer-stein to perform that rhythmic feat. The account should be tinged with drama to match the story of "Show Boat." But there is no Edna Ferber here to give wings to words. There should be moonlight; moon-light; springtime romance. And there is. That element is supplied by Irene Dunne and Allan Jones on the Rivoli screen. Music and romance and drama, fused together by magic that weaves an enchanting spell.
