Democrats of the Fourth judicial district were meeting in llebi-'r this afternoon to nominate a judicial ticket con-sistinir con-sistinir of two district judges and a' district attorney. The counties of Utah, Wasatch, Duchesne and Uintah coin-price coin-price the district. (Jeorgc B. Stanley of Heber, district dis-trict cliairman, called the convention conven-tion to order shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon and nominations nomin-ations were under way before 3 o'clock. ... Candidates In Riu;e: Candidates announced in the race were Judge Abe W. Turner, incumbent, I'rovo, and Dallas M. Young, Vernal, present district attorney, at-torney, for judges; and W. Stanley Stan-ley Dunlord, provo, present county coun-ty attorney, for district attorney. Judge, George S. Ballif of Provo, mentioned as a candidate for district dis-trict judge, has made no public announcement of his candidacy. Others mentioned for places on the ticket were Lee C. Montgomery, Montgom-ery, and Mr. Stanley, Heber attorneys. attor-neys. A call for Democratic primaries in Provo to select delegates to the state and congressional conventions conven-tions in Salt Lake City, was issued today by Emil K. Nielsen, precinct chairman. Delegates will be selected at the primaries to he beld Monday, Aug. 10, in five municipal wards as follows: fol-lows: First ward, Maeser school; Second ward. Franklin; Third ward, Timpanogos ; Fourth ward, Parker and Fifth ward, Farrer junior high school. |
