Show . ! Local Springville Democrats made a fine showing at the judicial convention con-vention at Heber City on Tuesday, officials of this precinct announce. City Attorney Arnold C. Roylance was elected chairman of the Fourth judicial district, which includes in-cludes Utah. Wasatch, Uintah and Duchesne counties. Hugh Baxter was elected secretary of the district. dis-trict. Captain Alvin Sessions of the Hobble Creek CCC camp will be the principal speaker at a meeting meet-ing of the Third ward M. I. A. at 7 p. m. Sunday. In addition to Captain Sessions talk, a splendid musical program will be furnished by camp members. All ward members and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be a meeting of the Springville Townsend club Friday, at 8 p. m., in the Seminary building. build-ing. Out-of-town speakers will discuss a number of interesting phases of the Townsend plan. In addition a splendid program will be given during the evening. All are invited and urged to attend. The young people of the community commun-ity are given a special invitation to be present. A brief electric storm here Tuesday afternoon destroyed a large transformer on East Second South street, throwing power from residences in that vicinity for son-siderable son-siderable time. The storm Saturday Sat-urday also struck in several sections sec-tions of the city. Lightning was given as the cause of a fire set in a shock of grain in a field on the high school street. A large tree, in the vicinity of Center street was also thought to have been struck by the lightning. TVenty-three Future Farmers under the direction of William H. Anderson, vocational instructor, and Victor Frandsen of the high school faculty, left early Sunday morning on a several days vacation vaca-tion trip. They plan to stop at Fish lake and view the sights of the Wayne Wonderland, including the natural bridge at Fruita; the mountain lakes near Tory, and the Capital Wash. Descendants of Catherine Houtz Boyer, a pioneer of '52, met in a family reunion- Saturday night, at the Second ward hall. Approximately Approxi-mately 100 relatives were in attendance. at-tendance. During a nicely arranged ar-ranged dinner, at which Charles Boyer acted as master of ceremonies, cere-monies, and S. J. Orman Weight, formerly of this city has been employed as music teacher in the Parawan high school to succeed Walter Peterson who resigned to accept a position at Bunkerville, Nev. Mr. Weight has taught at Hurricane the past two years. Delegates to represent the Springville Firemens' association at the state Firemen's convention in Salt Lake Citv beginning today to-day are Chief Leonard J. Taylor, Assistant R. E. Peery and Willis Weight.
