Show FIGHT SEEN At 20-30 CONFAB RENO, Nev., Aug. 25 ; ?.)-A bitter battle over resolutions of a political nature was predicted for the national convention of the association of 20-30 clubs here Sept. 9 to 12. Lloyd G. Buchler, national president presi-dent of 20-30, informed members of the convention committee, that he was preparing resolutions which would place the young men's organization on record against communism. He said . he also will present a ptan tor settlement settle-ment of labor disputes which he hoped would be endorsed by the convention. Announcement by Buchler of his impending resolutions followed follow-ed closely on the heels of violent editorial attacks upon communism in the Twenty-Tnirtian, national magazine of the association. The editorials drew protests from many club members throughout the country as not "Being in line with avowed 20-30 policies." Buchler, Sacramento attorney, acted as special prosecutor in Sacramento's famed "criminal syndicalism" trial in 1934-35 when several alleged agitators were convicted con-victed for subversive activities. As a direct result of the editorials editor-ials and Buchler's announced plans, reservations have been received re-ceived from eastern 20-30 clubs which are sending delegates to Reno to fight any resolutions which may be presented in controversial contro-versial nature. Chairman Lange. with more than 300 reservations already on hand, , said the Reno 1 gathering was expected to mark an all-time high for attendance at 20-30 national conventions. |
