Show Yoang, Henning Win fling Bouts At Park Ro-She By KAY HINCKLEY Quick knockouts, clean bouts, "villian" wrestlers all paraded before Park Ro-She customers Monday night in one of the most engaging shows yet staged by Promoters Floyd Hansen and Jack Washburn. Lee Henning, Iowa, charged at Benny Ginsburg as though he were in a Cornhusking bee, and before the hairy Chicagoan knew what was happening Henning had won two falls. Action in this bout was fast. Both men absorbed punishment in the firm of elbow and fist jabs, hair-pulls and knee bunts. Henning pinned Ginsberg after 20 minutes with flying tackle. Another tackle and a stepover toehold was good for the second fall in eight minutes. min-utes. Juan Oliquival, Basque champion, cham-pion, was strong as Tarzan, and acted much the same. When opportunity op-portunity presented itself he would throw out his chest and beat it with both fists. Oliquival won his bout with George Harben, Atlanta, At-lanta, in 22 minutes. Harben won the plaudits of the customers with his 'clean, fast wrestling. However, he gradually caved in under the punishment dealt out by the Basque. Bill Longson, essaying a comeback come-back after an Injury had kept him out of the wrestling business for a year, defeated Hans Schultz with a body press in 18 minutes. Maxie Young, Payson. proved he is still a dangerous clouter. He knocked out Young Red Lund of Spanish Fork in the second round of their scheduled six-round go. In the early seconds of the fight Lund looked good, but Young caught him with a haymaker just before the first round ended. After that the Spanish Fork youngster.; wasn't even in the fight. Young floored him for keeps early in the second. Glen Allen, Springville, won a technical knockout over Spike McKay, Hollywood, in the second round. Allen dominated the proceedings pro-ceedings from the start. |
