Show ew Party hnters held In vrcy Election , rj Petition Containing Complete Ticket Is Filed With Recorder , The first public announcement in connection with the city election elec-tion this fall, was made Wednesday Wednes-day with the filing in the city recorder's re-corder's office of candidates for the various offices to run under an independent ticket. They are: A. O. Thorn for mayor; H. T. Reynolds Jr., 4-year councilman; Ed. Johnson, Emit Ostlund, David Friel, 2-year councilman; Will Bringhurst. city recorder and Mrs. Eliza Russell, treasurer. Under a new set-up on city elections, candidates must have at least fifty signatures before filing the peti tion. They do not necessarily have to be nominated at a primary. prim-ary. . ' While no other candidates had filed Wednesday, or primaries announced, it is rumored that at least two other tickets will be placed in the field before election. Citizens are urged to see that their names appear on the registration regist-ration books. The last registration registra-tion day before election is October 26, with registration places announces an-nounces as follows: istrict 1. Mrs. Gwen Baxter; district 2, Mrs. Esther Harmer, district 3, Mrs Retta Harmer; district 4 Mrs Millie Sutherland; district 5, Mrs ' Frankie Averett. |
