Show I SOCIETY NBVS Mrs. G. D. Kennedy of Salina entertained members of the Social Twelve club at Keeleys. Provo, Wednesday night. Following a well arranged luncheon served at small tables, progressive bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. Lee Sumsion for high score and Mrs. George Crandall, consolation. There were sixteen members and guests' present, the latter including Airs. D. P. Brin-ton, Brin-ton, Jr., Mrs. William Obie and Mrs. Eva Nielson. The entertaining entertain-ing room was prettily decorated in Hallowe'en colors and table favors wt-re also in orange and black. The Daughters of Pioneers. Camp Springville will meet at the home of Mrs. Hattie Dougall, Thursday afternoon, November 12. The program for the occasion will feature a history of Hugh M. and Mary Kathertne Streeper Dougall. Miss Bernice Chatler. assisted by her mother, Mrs. A. C. Cliader entertained a few school friends at a prettily appointed Hallowe'en party, at her home Thursday night. The rooms and table decorations decor-ations were unique in orange and black. Progressive "cootie" was the feature of entertainment with high score prize for the game going to Miss Louise Clyde and the consolation to Miss Helen Clegg. Others present were Miss Melba Witney, Miss Luella Huntington, Hunt-ington, Mi&s Wilma Brown, Miss Helen Christensen, Miss Betty. Blanchard. Under the direction of the M. I. A. activity committee a Hallowe'en costume dance was held in the First ward Friday night. A large crowd attended. Mrs. G. D. Kennedy and daughter daugh-ter Edna of Salina, spent several days of the past week with relatives rela-tives and friends here and in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland and Mr. and Mrs. George Crandall returned the past week from an enjoyaile trip to southern Utah. They spent, some time at Zion's and Rryce canyons and also visited at St. George, the guests of Mrs. Vern Cannon. The Democratic Ladies Study club, under the direction of Mrs. Eva Crandall, precinct chairwo-aian, chairwo-aian, entertained at a tea, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the home of 'Irs. H. T. Reynolds, Sr.', Mrs. Frank Penrose of Salt Lake City, state Democratic chairwomen was the principal speaker at the meeting. Musical selections were lso given. At the conclusion of Ihe meeting refreshments, were en ed to about 41 ladies in attendance. at-tendance. The Springville Legion auxiliary will entertain at their annual card party Saturday, November 7, at 1:30 p. m., at Memorial hall. President, Pres-ident, Inez Chader is in charge. Miller Wednesday night. The bride received many lovely gifts and the guests enjoyed the evening with music, games and social chat. A delicious luncheon was served at the close of the party. Mrs. Lena Maycock and Mrs. Esther Condie left the past week to visit in Washington, D. C, Mrs. Maycock will be the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Esther Earl and husband and Cecelia Maycock who has been there since early this fall. Mrs. Condie will visit her daughter Melba Osmond and family. fam-ily. Associates of Dr. V. M. Sevy I aL the State hospital gave a social in honor of him and Mrs. Sevy, at the home of Mrs. Mary M. Oakes, Thursday evening. Dr. and Mrs. Sevy are leaving soon to reside at New Orleans. The entertainment en-tertainment featured cards with special guest prize given to Mrs. Sevy; high score to Dr. Harrington Harring-ton of . Provo and consolation to Robert McKell also of Provo. Assisting As-sisting Mrs. Oakes with the party wore Sue More, Afton Morgan, and Alice Carter. A tasty luncheon lunch-eon was served to fourteen guests. The Gatherers class of the Fourth ward M. I. A., under the : direction of Mrs. John CoIIett, j entertained at a nicely arranged Hallowe'en party Wednesday night for members of the Builders Build-ers class under the leadership of Mrs. Emma Long. The party was given at the home of Miss CaLherinc Holley. All enjoyed the evening of games followed by a dainty lunch both suggestive of j Hallowe'en. j I Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bird accompanied accom-panied by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dunn returned Saturday from a delightful delight-ful trip in which they visited most of the western states. Enroute to Yellowstone National park they visited in Wyoming, and Idaho. They also spent some time in Oregon Ore-gon and Washington visiting the principal cities in these states. Proceeding down the cna-st they visited relatives and friends in Glcndale, Calif., and spent several days at interesting places on the west coast. They returned by way of Arizona and also passed through the principal cit ies in Nevada. They were gone 16 days. ! i I |
