Show Art Building Plans Receive New Impetus Prospects for constructing an art building to house the high school permanent collection, look brighter, declared Mayor George A. Anderson Tuesday, following word received that the state plan-in plan-in board had appointed the University Uni-versity of Utah recreational director direc-tor to work with the art committee commit-tee on the project. The state also has refered the project to the federal ' P. W. A. and if it is granted under this department, one fourth of the cost of material will be paid, it is stated. It is planned to build a $50,000 building. In the meantime, city and art officials are working to raise a fund to be added to the federal contribution to make the art building build-ing posible. Officials feel that the high school art project, which has become knownthroughout the country, and which' has done more to place Springville on the map, than any other one project, is worthy of a fitting and appropriate approp-riate place in which the pictures may be exhibited to better adj vantage. |
