Mrs. Rea Straw, Mrs. Afton Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, Mrs. Mary Bird, Mrs. Kate Tibbits, Mrs. Owen Rowe and Miss Marie Simkins were guests of Mrs. Mary Rigtrup at a bridge luncheon at her home Friday Fri-day night at Spanish Fork. A talk by Howard Salisbury on "How We Got Our Bible," featured fea-tured a meeting and social of the Fourth ward Relief society, last Tuesday afternoon at Kelley's Grove, Hobble Creek canyon. The meeting concluded with the serv-4neof serv-4neof a-deMcieus pot luck lunch. Twenty three members and guests were in attendance. Mrs. Prudence' Palfrey man and daughters Helen and Bernice, Miss Beth Miller, Dick Mendenhall and Ralph Cherrington, recently returned re-turned from a trip to Castle Ford and Buhl, Idaho, where they visited visit-ed Mrs. Foster Thomas and Mrs. Ray Williamson and families. Mrs. C. G. Triplett has returned to her home at Long Beach, Calif., after a six weeks' visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hoffman, Hoff-man, in this city. Members of the Blue Bird class of the Fourth ward primary were entertained Monday night at the home of Miss Norma Roylance. Following the lesson given by Mrs. Earl Phillips, refreshments were served. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Eliza Beckstead of Spanish Fork, to Joseph Floyd Dalley of this city which took place Saturday at the county court house, Provo. Mrs. Movell Day and three children chil-dren of Oakland, Calif., are visiting visit-ing the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sanford. Mrs. Day was formerly Helen Sanford. Mr. and Mrs. W..A. Bird entertained enter-tained at dinner at their home Thrusday, complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Wills and daughter, daugh-ter, who are visiting here from Los Angeles, Calif. . Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Reynolds are entertaining at a dancing party, Thursday night at their home, beginning be-ginning at 8:30 p. m., for members of the Springville American Legion Le-gion and partners and members of the Legion auxiliary and their partners. An outstanding event of the late summer was the marriage of Miss Naomi Overlade of Helper to Lawrence Law-rence McKee, son of Mrs. Agnes McKee of this city, which took place at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Fillmore at Spanish Fork, last Saturday. Sat-urday. The ceremony was performed per-formed by Bishop Arthur McKell. The bride was charming in a gown of pale yellow crepe and silk net. She carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas, tied with silver ribbon. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Lyman Overlade. She was attended by Mrs. A. Noorda, matron of honor, who wore a gown of blue organdie. Brides maids were Miss.--Vonda-Black of Helper and Miss Phyllis Overlade, only sister of the bride. They wore gowns of pink and yellow, yel-low, taffeta, respectively and carried car-ried bouquets1 of roses. The little flower girls, Phyllis Taylor and Viola Noorda, were attractively at-tractively dressed in white and pink organdie and net. They carried car-ried baskets of vari-colored sweet peas. The groom was attended by Udell Jackson of Provo. The wedding wed-ding ceremony was made more impressive im-pressive by the wedding march, played in duet form by Mrs. Ray Peterson and Mrs. S. W. Williams, of Provo, aunts of the bride. A reception was given by the bride's parents immediatell following the ceremony. Members of the Ladies' Literary club and their partners will be entertained en-tertained at a canyon party Thursday Thurs-day at 5:30 p. m., at Sulphur Springs, Hobble Creek canyon. Mrs. Lowry Anderson, Mrs. Jack Bearnson and Mrs. Harold Chris-tensen Chris-tensen will be hostesses. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Ray S. Alleman who were married the past week. Miss Helen Alleman Alle-man entertained at dinner for a number of their friends Friday evening, at her home. Covers were laid for Miss Geraldine Eggertsen, Lorell ohnson, Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Car-lisle Crandall, Miss Dally Thalman, Roe Thorn, Mrs. Ines Bird, Raphel Palfreyman, the honor guests and the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. James Packard of Los Angeles, Calif., are guests of Mr. and Mrs.. Lee Miner this week. Mrs. Will Hatfield and daughter daugh-ter of Oakland, Calif., formerly of this city were guests of Mrs. Rhoda Hatfield and daughter, Mrs. B. Glazier Tuesday. They also were accompanied by Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Clark of Provo. Miss Verna Chadburn of this city is visiting relatives and friends at Boulder City, Nev. She also plans to attend the fair at San Diego, Calif., before return-I return-I ing to her home here about September Sep-tember 5. Members of the Home Culture club were delightfully entertained at a bridge luncheon, Friday night at the home of Mrs. C. O. Claudin. The prize for the evening's eve-ning's games was awarded to Mrs. V.M. Sevy. Assisting with the party which was the second given this summer were Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, Mrs. L. E. Otteson, Mrs. Gene Hales, Mrs. Howard Thorpe. Mrs. J. F. Wingate, Mrs. Jack Perham, Mrs. C. F. Packard, Mrs. W. M. Bird. Mrs. Rhoda Dougall, Miss-Sophia Miss-Sophia Packard, and Mrs. V. M. Sevy. Mrs. Clifford Taylor and Mrs. Marion Robinson, the latter of Murray entertained at a miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower, at the home of Mrs. Hattie Blackett, Thursday night, complimentary to Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence McKee a bride of the past week. A musical program and games were followed by a dainty lunch. Many lovely gifts were received re-ceived by the honor guests from the following relatives and friends in attendance, Mrs. Pearl Dyett, Mrs. Ann Noorda, Mrs. Lynn Overlade Over-lade of Helper, Mrs. G.
