The program tentatively tentative-ly arranged for the occasion will include a book review. Mrs. George Crandall was hostess host-ess to members of the S. T. Club at a delightful party at her home Wednesday evening. The group enjoyed a tasty lunch carried out in St. Patrick colors and later contract bridge Prizes for the games were won by Mrs. Harry Pennington, and Mrs. Hugh Baxter. Bax-ter. Twelve club members were in attendance. Mrs. W. H. Parker and son Fred Parker and daughter Ruth and husband of Salt Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Brd-on Thursday. Mrs: Ronald Beardall of this city was in Salt Lake Thursday especially to attend funeral services ser-vices for F. O. D. An interesting meeting of the Notre Chez club home economics social functions have been given this week by friends and relatives, rela-tives, among which was an informal in-formal party given by the Spanish Span-ish Fork seminary students, where Mr. Barnett has been training, Tuesday afternoon. Others are planned for the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finley entertained at dinner at theit home Monday evening for Mr and Mrs. Foster Bowen and son, Franklin, of Burley, Idaho. Dr. Mahtilda Dixon of Salt Lake City was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird, last week. Members of the Busy Finger club were entertained last Thursday Thurs-day afternoon, at the home of Mrs. Olea Sargent. , The group enjoyed sewing and a delicious luncheon served by the hostess. Pioneers, Camp Aaron Johnson were delightfully delight-fully entertained Thursday afternoon, after-noon, at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Hutchi'ngs. A feature of the program was th history of John Lowry Anderson, Sr., an early Utah pioneer, given by Mrs. Olive L. Anderson, a granddaughter. An interesting lesson on early Utah schools and school teachers was given by Mrs. Amy Donaldson. President Sarah Passey of the Utah county chapter and Mrs. Josephine Jones, county chorister, both of Provo, were special visitors visit-ors at the camp meeting and spoke briefly. A piano trio was given by Mrs. Mary S. Boyer, Mrs. Lula Liechty and Mrs. Ida Bird. Captain Josie Alleman presided" at the meeting at the conclusion of which tasty refreshments were served. Assisting hostesses for the occasion were, Mrs. Jennie Starr, Mrs. Mae Smith, Mrs. Amy Donaldson, and Mrs. LaPreal York. Mrs. J. M. Brown and Mrs. Charles Daley of Provo, former Springville residents, were Springville Spring-ville visitors on Thursday. They attended the meeting of Camp Kolob, in the afternoon. The marriage of Miss Bernice Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl O. Nelson of tms city, to Maurice C. Barnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen L. Barnett of Spanish Fork, was solemnized in the Salt Lake temple on Friday, Fri-day, March 27. The" parents of the bride and groom accompanied the young couple through the temple. Following the ceremony, a nicely arranged wedding dinner din-ner was served members of the wedding party at Keeleys in Salt Dake City. The couple plan to make their home in Spanish Fork. In their honor a number of Mrs. F. G.. Scott of Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., is visiting her brother, Blaine Smith and family and her aunt, Miss Zina Singleton Single-ton and other relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wheeler had as their guests Sunday, their daughters, Mrs. Fred B. Evans and Miss Vera Wheeler of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wheeler and family of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Dos Lindsey.of Heber City. Among the delightful spring parties was that given by Elaine Boyei1 and Helen Dunn, Monday night, for the following guests: Virginia Bird, Carma Crandall, Ranae Davis, Lorraine Daley, Jane Strong, Jacqueline Senior, Lois Johnson, Margaret Larson, Marjorie Whiting, LaRhea Niel-son, Niel-son, Alice Rising, Phylis Boyer, Catherine Holly, Donna Whitney and the hostesses. The Seagull Girls of the Third ward, under the direction of their leaders, Mrs. Marjorie Davis and Mrs: Edith Phillips, were entertained enter-tained at their ceremonial flight party last Wednesday night. The girls worked on their books, the Segolias, and' later enjoyed a candy pull. There were ten class members and their instructors in attendance. Mrs. H. A. Baxter was hostess hos-tess to members of the Home Culture club at her home Friday afternoon. The program featured an exceptionally infor m a t i v e paper on "Illuminated Manuscripts" Manu-scripts" by Mrs. G. B. Orton and a comprehensive review of current cur-rent literature by Mrs. Elmo Coff-man. Coff-man. Officers of the club were reelected for the coming year, as follows: Mrs. D. B. Welch, president: Mrs. E. S. Perham, vice president; Mrs. Warren Beardall, secretary - treasurer. and Mrs. J. M. Cranmer, also of this city. The marriage took place on March 18th. Ml-s. Maude Curtis was hostess to a number of friends at a delightful de-lightful party Friday night, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Clark. A sumptuous dinner din-ner was served early, followed by cards. Guests included Mrs. Coe Nelson, Mrs. Maurine Haymond, Mrs. Ila Cranmer, Mrs. Muriel Robertson, Mrs. Lillie Hume, Mrs. Thelma Cherrington, Mrs. Thelma Clark, Mrs. Gertrude Clements, Mrs. Austin Roylance, Mrs. Idessa Child, Mi-s. Adelia Mcpherson and Mrs. Blanch Tipton. Outstanding among the large and socially successful parties of the past week was that of the American Legion held Friday night at Memorial hall, with more than 150 members and guests in attendance. At the conclusion of the meeting ' a delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served buffet style. A lovely low bowl of white sweet peas with" tall green tapers formed form-ed attractive decorations for the serving table, which was covered with a gorgeous lace- -cloth: The next meeting of the. Home Culture club scheduled for March 31, has been postponed from that date to Friday, April 7, when it ' will be" held at the home of I Mrs. C. F. Packard, announces the president, Mrs. D. B. Welch. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans of Springville, wish to announce the marriage of their daughter Louise, to M. K. Cranmer, son of Mr. Nelson introduced J. W. Grant as master of ceremonies for the evening. A comic skit was presented pre-sented by Eli Tippetts; a vocal duet by John Hardy and Floss Phillips, accompanied by Mrs. Lola Weight; vocal solos by Miss Donna Mae Miller of Salt Lake City, accompanied by Mrs. Julia Sumsion; short talk by Mayor A. O. Thorn, who with Mrs. Thorn, attended as special guests. Harold Christensen in clever manner, man-ner, toasted the women of the organization; Mrs. Will Brown responded. The banquet was served ser-ved at long tables in U-shape, beautifully decorated with St. Patrick motifs. Lovely and unique uni-que favors were given the ladies and their partners. Following the banquet, dancing was enjoyed during the remainder of the evening. eve-ning.
