Show Recreation School , At American Fork AMERICAN FORK The recreation recre-ation "school for children five and six years of age opened Monday. The school is a part of the WPA recreation program and is organized organ-ized for the purpose of providing wholesome play for children under supervision, so as to insure development de-velopment of desired habits and attitudes. Mrs. Ellen Tracy is the teacher, in charge. The enrollment limit is set at 20 children, and 15 were enrolled today. The school is held in the basement of the library from 9 to 12 a. m. each school day, and will last until May. A meeting of the parents of the students was held and the following fol-lowing committees were selected: Finance, Mrs. Ross Buck waiter, chairman; Mrs. Glenn Baker, Mrs. Si Bell; supply and equipment: Mrs. Ben Buckwalter, chairman; Mrs. Gerald Burr, Mrs. J. W. Phillips; social committee, Mrs. ' Tom Reese, chairman; Mrs. Frank I Jackson and Mrs. Douglas Hind- j ley. A room mother will be se-1 lected every two weeks and the . first to officiate will be Mrs. Earl Larson. The program will include health instruction, an activity period, cultural period which will include the organization of a rhythm band, story period and handwork. |
