Springvillc, and Laura Banner, formerly of Spring-vine, Spring-vine, now living in Salt Lake City, have been appointed student assistants as-sistants in the Brigham Young university physical education departmentaccording de-partmentaccording to Miss Wilma Jeppson, associate professor of physical education for women. Mrs. Packard instructed during a part of last summer in the Provo city recreation depaartment, and has recently returned from California Cali-fornia where she studied dancing during the latter part of the summer. sum-mer. Prominent in athletics and dancing danc-ing during her high school and college col-lege life, Miss Banner ha3 filled the positions of president of the Women's Wo-men's Atbeltic association and in- tramural manager for two years each, and is a member of the White Key, national women's honorary hon-orary service organization. She will assist in coaching classes, basketball, bas-ketball, track and field, and junior jun-ior and senior high school. Mrs. Packard will assist in tap and clog dancing and will be head teacher of physical instruction in the training train-ing school. ST. MARY'S COLLEGE, Oct. 7 Coach Slip MMdigan of St. Mary's nationally acclaimed Galloping Gal-loping Gaels today paid high tribute trib-ute to a Utah boy was starred in St. Mary's stirring 10-0 triumph over California last Saturday. Bill Wilkin, 230 pound, (i-4 inch tackles, who learned his football at Springville high, in Utah, started start-ed and played the entire game for St. Mary's. He yielded not an inch of ground all afternoon, threw California, backs for numerous losses and recovered a fumble that put St. Mary's in scoring position. "Wilkin turned as line a game as I have ever seen." Madigau declared. de-clared. "He was in the California backficld all afternoon, stopped everything that came his way and narrowly missed blocking two kicks. Indirectly, he won the game for us. St. Mary's is proud of Bill Wilkin." Wilkin, a junior in the school of economics, is playing 'his second year as a regular on the St. Mary's team. Saturday's brilliant exhibi- tion definitely puts him in line for All-Amcrican honors in the opinion of Madigan.
