Show THOMAS CRITICIZES BORAH'S ATTITUDE POCATELLO. Idaho. Oct. 7 UJ.l:) Norman Thomas, Socialist candidate candi-date for president, vigorously attacked at-tacked Sen. William E. Borah here last night in an address concerning concern-ing control of private monopoly. "Borah refused to debate me on monopoly tonight," Thomas charged. charg-ed. "He said he would debate after the election. In other words, he asks you to elect him first and then discuss vital issues afterward a sort of a blank cheek he wants to give you. "It is lamentable that discus-: discus-: sion of important issues from different dif-ferent points of view is so nearly lacking from the current campaign. cam-paign. I thought Borah might lend his great ability and commanding prestige to a discussion." |
