Mrs. Elaine Par-cell Par-cell and Mrs. Mabel Childs also entertained with vocal duets. Guests at the party were: Mrs. Harriet Witney, Mrs. Norma Strong, Mrs. Clara Crandall, Mrs. Sarah Hutchings, Mrs. Mercedes Anderson, Mrs. Corenne Booth of Spanish Fork, and Mrs. Maud Hall of Idaho. .'A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess pre-ceeding pre-ceeding the program. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Evans visited Sunday with Mrs. Evans' parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wheeler in this city . Mrs. Wallace Brockband was hostess to members of the Alpha Beta Club at her home Friday afternoon. Mrs. M. R. Straw gave a brief report of the district board meeting in which she attended at the home of Mrs. Sterling Ercan-brack Ercan-brack in Provo by unanimous vote of club members present, it was decided the club join the state federation. Current events were given by Mrs. A. O. Packard. A story "The Outcasts of Poker Flat" by Bret Hart was read by Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson. Lovely music was furnished by Springville Spring-ville high school music department depart-ment after which a dainty luncheon lunch-eon with George Washington decorations dec-orations was served. The next club meeting will be be at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Condie. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Allan gave a party at their home Saturday night for a number of friends.- A George Washington day color scheme was predominant in room and table decorations. A nicely arranged chicken supper was served early in the evening and the guests later enjoyed cards. There were present, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Roy-lance, Roy-lance, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Rob-bins Rob-bins and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fry. Prizes for the evening's games went to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith and Mr; and Mrs. Fry. Mrs. Jane Alleman, music teacher at the Highland school, Salt Lake City spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred of Idaho Falls, Ida., Mr. and Mrs. Creede Kindred and son Jerry of Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thatcher of Provo. Among the unique and enjoyable parties of the past week was one given Saturday night, by Mr. and Mrs. Mack Crandall, in the form of a barn dance. The guests came attired in comic costumes and following dancing a tasty luncheon was served. In attendance attend-ance were Mr. and Mrs. Ferral Olsen of Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Wheeler of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Ber-nell Ber-nell Ewing, Miss Ruth Lee, Willis Johnson, Frank Brinton, Miss Helen Cutler of Salt Lake City, Miss Fern Bate, Hugh Ward, Miss Alecn McKenzie and Howard McKenzie. Boyer of this city announce the marriage of their daughter Helen, to Mel-vin Mel-vin Jolley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jolley of San Diego, Calif. Miss Boyer left during the past week to join Mr. Jolley at Sai Diego, where the wedding was performed, with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wolf and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jolley, in attendance. An informal infor-mal reception followed at the home of the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Wolf. Miss Boyer is a graduate of the Brigham Young university and a member of the Fidelel and White Keys social units. The young coup'.-e will reside re-side in San Diego.
