Show CITY TAX LEVY IS INCREASED Due to a number of unpaid bills, and added expense Incurred through rolicf work, and low estimated tax receipts, it is necessary nec-essary to increase the city tax levy this year 4.30 mills, city officials report, making a total tax levy of 18.30 mills compared with 14 nulls in 1933. Last year the Springville tax levy was lowered low-ered 1.45 mills and the city had the distinction of being the enly one in Utah county to lower its tax levy. The general fund this year calls for 5 mills; streets and walks, 3 mills; waterworks fund, 80 mills; memorial building fund, 1 mill; special improvement guarantee fund, 1 mill; library maintancc fund, 1.50 mills; bond interest fund, 3 mills. City Recorder William Bring-hurst Bring-hurst reports that the electric light and waterworks receipts for this year so far are in advance of last year, but the general tax receipts are not so great. |
