Show ) Farmers Urged To Cut Acreage By LYMAN H. RICH County Agricultural Agent The machinery Is being put into operation for the Government Wheat Allotment program for Utah county. The state has been divided into eleven districts, Utah ; county being one of these districts as a separate county and district by itself. The Extension Service with Director William Peterson at the head is being' given the work of organizing the program. Utah County Farm Bureau President, Presi-dent, Evans L. Anderson wilt be chairman of the county board and a county committee will be organized organ-ized shortly to put the machinery in full operation. The whole program pro-gram was explained at a state meeting in Ogden Thursday July 13. Community committees of three will be appointed under the direction direct-ion of each locaB Farm Bureau in each community and it will be their definite work to sign up wheat growers to take advantage of the plan to check their acreage and to check on the entire community com-munity production for the past three years. The wheat allotment plan provides pro-vides the payment at the rate of 30c per bushel to farmers on the basis of 5-8 of their production on the 1930, 31 and 32 yields. Part of the payment will me made, it is understood in September of 1933. The only requirement is that the farmers agree to cut his acreage of wheat in 1934 and 35, whatever the government asks, not to exceed ex-ceed 20 per cent. It will be to the distinct advantage advan-tage of the farmers to take advantage advan-tage of this plan as they, have been asking for this very thing for a long time. Wneat growers should get in touch with their local Farm Bureau Bur-eau president immediately. Contracts Con-tracts will be out ready for signatures signa-tures about August 1. |
