Show Mendenhalls Hold Enjoyable Reunion at Kelley's Grove With about 250 relatives in attendance at-tendance descendants of William and Sarah Lovell Mendenhall, held their annual reunion Friday, Saturday Satur-day and Sunday at Kelley's Grove, Hobble Creek canyon. . A bonfire program, Saturday evening, eve-ning, was a big feature of the entertainment en-tertainment as was the annual baseball game between the city and county teams. The latter team won only by one point this year. Other competitive games and sports were held and on Sunday morning all attended regular Sunday school services. Richard Bird, Byrd W: Mendenhall, Menden-hall, Earney Mendenhall, Chester Johnson and Mrs. Irene Jensen all of Salt Lake were appointed to arrange ar-range for next year's reunion. It was decided during the reunion that family members would make an effort to collect the lue'ndenhall family pioneer relics, outstanding among which is the old log cabin on Center and First West street. Lovell Mendenhall, G. W. and Ar-lene Ar-lene Mendenhall, Emmeline Bird and Mrs. Jensen were appointed to act on this committee. Aaron Mendenhall was asked to work during the coming year on a detailed history of the original pioneer family. |
