Show SOCIETY NEVS Mrs. Lucille Slowell accompanied by Miss Dona Salisbury, Miss La Vein Boer of Logan, Miss Verena Graham of Bingham, Miss Wilma Bearnson and Miss Prue Wride of Spanish Fork plan to leave Monday on a trip to the world's fair and other places of interest in the east including Boston New York, Quebec, Que-bec, and Washington, D. C. They plan to return by way of the southern south-ern states. Vein Marker of Canada is visile ing his brother, Joseph Harker in this city. Miss Elizabeth Loynds of this city with Mr. and Mrs. Uarwin Ellen El-len spent the past week on a trip to Yellowstone park. Mr. and Mrs. George Russell have returned to their home at Berkeley after several weeks visit with Mrs. Eliza Russll and other relatives here. A number of friends were entertained enter-tained at the home of Miss Yvonne Baker Thursday evening in honor of Leon Dallin who was visiting here from California. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by the following guests: Robert Weight, Cleon Lanncy, Douglas Brown, Francis Brimhall, La Dean Harker, Hark-er, Sarah Marie Kinks, Martha Bird, Thclma Butler and the hostess. Mrs. Eliza Thorn is spending this week with her son Richard and daughter Eliza and families in Salt Lake. The Mothers Study club and their partners enjoyed a' picnic supper at Vivian park in Provo canyon last Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mis. Glenn Dallin, the latter a former member of the club were special guests. About thirty-four persons attended. Mrs. lone Oisen who' is spending (he summer .here was guest of honor at a party given Tuesday evening by Mrs. Milton Holdaway, formerly Miss Maud Tuciuield, at her home in Lake View. Miss Ar-lene Ar-lene Mendenhall of this city was also a guest. Miss Effie Warnick also entertained at a party for Mrs. Olsen recently at Provo with home economics teachers of the B. Y. U. and a number of former graduates as guests. Luell and Elma Straw spent several sev-eral days of the past week in Salt Lake with relatives. They attended attend-ed the wedding reception of Thorn P. Chase Jr. and Miss Virginia Bishop on Friday evening, and were also guests at a number of other social functions during their stay, including an elaljorale wedding wed-ding breakfast for the bride and groom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Winword. Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Jones of Lehi announce the marriage of their daughter Florence Bercryv to Harold Mendenhall son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall of this city which took place July 3. The bride is a graduate of the U. of U. and a number of the Chi Deta Phi, Phi Sigma, Alpha Beta Thela, and Phi Kappa Phi sororities. The bridegroom is u former student of the B. Y. U. The young couple plan to make their home in Salt Lake, continuing their' studies at the University of Utah. 1 . Mrs. Lloyd Bird and children and Mrs. Manferd Hutchinson and children are spending several days at Kelley's Grove. A talk on the world's fair by Miss Mary Roylance featured a meeting and social of the Fourth ward Gleaner girls at the home of Miss Dona Salisbury Tuesday evening. eve-ning.
