Robinson, a bride of the past week, her mother, Mrs. Agnes McKee and 1 aunt, Mrs. Hattie Blackett, entertained enter-tained at a miscellaneous shower at the home of the latter Thursday evening. After a program of interesting inter-esting games, luncheon was served. The bride was showered with many lovely gifts from about 35 relatives and friends in attendance. Mrs. Floss Cates of this city was hostess to members of the Spring-ville-Provo Bridge club at her homo Tuesday evening. Mrs. J. N. Crawford Craw-ford of Provo won the high score prize and Mrs. Ann Johnson the second sec-ond favor. A tasty luncheon was served in conclusion of the party to seven club members and Mrs. Delbert Krauss, a guest. Members of the La Conda club were guests of Mrs. Lowry Anderson Ander-son at her home Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Sewing, social chat and a delicious de-licious luncheon were enjoyable fea-tures fea-tures of the tparty. In honor of Miss Elizabeth Gilli- lan, who plans to leave soon to fill a mission for the Presbyterian church in Shiminoseki, Japan, the ladies of Community church entertained enter-tained at a party at the home of Mrs. W. L. Crrooms Wednesday afternoon. A nice program of music and a dainty lunch were enjoyed by all. Miss Gillilan was presented Mrs. Merle Packard and Miss Mabel Averett assisted by Mrs. Elsie Condie entertained at a bridal bri-dal shower Friday evening at the home of the latter in compliment to Mrs. Marion N. Robinson, nee j Miss Ethel Taylor. The home was ! prettily decorated in colors of pink and white, cosmos and roses and i liny streamers draped from the j chandeliers added to the attractive scheme. Mrs. Merle Packard Pack-ard was matron of honor. She was dressed in orchid crepe and carried I a bouquet of pink sweet peas. The bridesmaids. Miss Mabel Averett and Mrs. Amy Wheat, wore gowns of yellow and carried orchid and pink sweet peas. Jack Wheat acted j os best man. Following the ceremony cere-mony a reception was held for the young couple with more than 100 guests attending. Refreshments and a musical program was enjoyed en-joyed during the evening. Many beautiful gifts were received by the quests of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson Rob-inson will be at home to their many friends after September 14, in Magna. Members of the Social Twelve club will be guests of Mrs. Arthur Flnley at her home next Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. All are invited invit-ed to attend. Songs, social chat and stories were other features of entertainment. Miss Amy Snyder, daughter of Mrs. Luell Snyder of this city., and T. L. Rose were married Saturday evening at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. James Curtis in Maple-ton. Maple-ton. A reception for immediate family members followed. The young couple will make their home in Vona, Colo. Members of Young People's so ciety of the local Community church entertained at an enjoyable outing at Geneva Wednesday evening eve-ning complimentary to members who will leave soon to attend school. Swimming and a marsh-mallow marsh-mallow roast were features of th'e evening with a large crowd attending. attend-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Weight were in Salt Lake last Wednesday to attend at-tend the -funeral services of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hogan's eight-year-old son. For her little son, Owen, who was four years old Wednesday, Mrs. Clara Sumsion entertained at a nicely arranged birthday party at her home for a number of little friends. Out-door games and a dainty lunch were enjoyed by all present. Mrs. Chester Johnson of Richfield, Rich-field, Idaho, spent several days of the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. President Minnie Groesbeck will be hostess to the members of the Ladies' Literary club at her home Saturday afternoon, September 26. This is the opening meeting of the season. In honor of Miss Fawn Livingston Living-ston who left this week to attend scnool at the U. A. C, a number of friends entertained at a surprise party at her home Friday evening. A tasty lunch concluded a delightful delight-ful time of games and social chat. Mrs. G. G. Neill was hostess to the ladies of the Alpha Be'ta club at her home Friday afternoon. Forest For-est Thomas, manager of the Springville Spring-ville Floral, gave an interesting talk on cultivation of flowers followed by a discussion by club members. During the program Jimmie and Dick Neill entertained with vocal selections as did also Miss Catherine Cather-ine R. Dougall, accompanied by Miss Alzada Wilmott. The meeting, the first . of the season was in charge of President Vinn Boyer who welcomed all present. A dainty lunch was sorved in conclusion to 23 members and guests' An elaborate wedding reception was given Friday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thorpe, who were married recently at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Epgertson. The spacious spa-cious entertaining rooms were beautiful with a profusion of late summer flowers used in decoration. As the guests arrived a dainty lunch was served and a delightful program was furnished during the evening. President Blanch Beal welcomed the members to the first meeting of the season. Following community singing by the club, Mrs. Hazel Christensen gave a brief talk on the program for the year. Current events of the summer months were given in an interesting manner by Mrs. E. V. Borman. A program of music and reading was furnished by Ruth and Delia Baxter. A dainty lunch was later served by the hostess to 15 club members. The Home Culture club will meet at the home of Mrs. L. E. Otteson Fiiday, September 25, instead of with Mrs. Houtz as was scheduled. In honor of Miss Fawn Livingston, Living-ston, Mrs. Jen Clyde, Mrs. Theo Thorpe and Mrs. Fay Cranmer who recently resigned from the Fourth ward Primary, officers and teachers of the organization entertained enter-tained at a bon-fire supper at Glengarry Saturday evening. Besides Be-sides officers and teachers, members mem-bers of the stake board of the ward p.ttended as special guests.
