Show SPRINGVILLE REPORTS GOOD CROP MARKET The first car load of onions weri shipped from Springville Saturday by E. W. Brown. Another wan shipped Monday by D. O. Ashcraft. The crop, though somewhat below normal this year, is of good quality and is expected to pass a higher tost, according to County Inspector Earl Hutchings. Harvesting of peaches will be finished this week. More than 40 cars had bee nshipped from Springville Spring-ville and vicinity early in the week. Several more are expected to be loaded by Friday. The shipping of green tomatoes from here continues heavy with about 16 carloads shipped since construction of the new packing plant early in August. This crop has found an attractive market both on the coast and in eastern cities. Besides green tomatoes, a large crop of ripe tomatoes is being harvested har-vested here for the local cannery. Though careful grading of these has been in effect this season, most of the growers are receiving a high grading percent for their crops. |
