Show Springville Finns Are Low Bidders On Road Contract The contracting1 combination of W. J. Clyde & Qo. and -J. W. Whiting Whit-ing of Springville Tuesday was declared de-clared low bidder among twelve competitors for the construction of 6.5 miles of gravel-surfaced highway high-way from the Beaver county line to Buckthorn flat, in Iron county. Award of the bid is expected Wednesday, Wed-nesday, when the state road commission com-mission meets. The low bid unit prices are estimated esti-mated to cost the state a total of $38,116.94 for the project, which includes in-cludes a bridge over Fremont wash. The work is to be completed in 90 days. In the interests of furnishing local employment, a group of Iron county men organized the Cedar City Construction company, which bid on the work, but : at prices which totaled $46,030.81. IJr. Clyde of the low bidders, howeveii assured the commission that if the bid is awarded to him and associates, local labor and teams will be used to the fullest ex-I ex-I tent possible. |
