Show 'A CITIZEN' IS IN FAVOR OF IMPROVEMENT Springville, Aug. 7, 1931, Editor Herald: As a property owning taxpayer of this city, I want to congratulate the city council for its foresighted-ness, foresighted-ness, good business judgment in undertaking the improvement of our main street at this time. If our city is to hold its own with improvement must be done now or in the not distant future. Prices for the necessary materials ma-terials will never be better, men are begging for employment and no better time could be selected for the spending of money for either public or private improvements. improve-ments. The public spirited men and women wo-men who are owners of property within the district to be paved, and who are behind the city council in its efforts toward civic betterment, are also to be congratulated for thier enterprise and progressive-ness. progressive-ness. Popular sentiment is with them and the people of the community com-munity as a whole will undoubtedly show their appreciation by a more liberal patronage of the stores and business houses, whose owners and proprietors are contributing so greatly to the civic good. There is little sympathy bestowed bestow-ed upon those who hang back with 1 the hope of delaying or defeating the efforts of their more progressive progress-ive neighbors, and who are only willing to sit idly by and profit by the enterprise of others. Such people peo-ple are of little use to a community whose aim is is to progress. They should either sell out or get out, making room for others who are willing to do their part toward ' civic advancement. ! Again I offer my congratulations to the city council and al! others who are supporting this most commendable com-mendable undertaking, A CITIZEN. |
