Show 5 : Plan Utah County Sugar Beet Tour I $ The annual Utah county sugar beet tour will be conducted Tuesday, Tues-day, August 18, according to a decision de-cision of the officers of the Utah County Sugar Beet association at a meeting held in the agricultural offices Monday afternoon. Meeting at Memorial building in Lehi promptly at 9 o"clock the caravan cara-van will visit three or four sugar beet fields in the north end of the county where observations of conditions con-ditions exisiting there will be made, i From there they will go to Spring-I Spring-I ville where a free luncheon will be J served in the Springville Second ward amusement hall, Following the luncheon a brief program will be given. During the afternoon the group will visit the fields in the. Spanish Fork and Payson area, stopping at Payson for a watermelon bust. Among the sugar beet experts who will accompany the growers on the tour will be J. Will Gillman, president of the state organization; E. J. Maynard, head of the department depart-ment of animal husbandry, U. A. C, and beet specialists of the U. S. department of agriculture. Observations will be made with respect to conditions of crops under the different cultural methods adopted this year, it is stated, Par- ticular attention also will be "paid to the success of artesian wells, a number having been driven this year. In addition to the growers of Utah county those of Wasatch county are cordially invited to participate par-ticipate in the tour, it is stated. Among those at Monday's meeting meet-ing were: J. W. Gillman, president of the Utah State Beet association; C. J. Cobblcy, Pleasant Grove; Samuel Taylor, Payson; J. H. Snell, Spanish Folk; Anson B. Call and Lyman H.
