Show T GRIDSTERS TO HAVE FINE EQUIPMENT Manager Keeler Busy Handing Hand-ing Out Suits to Prospective Prospec-tive Candidates. Graduate Manager Ralph Keeler was kept busy handing out suits to the fractious Cougars who were anxious anx-ious to get out onto the field Monday Mon-day afternoon and in checking in the new nthletic equipment, said to be the best that could be had in the state. Professor Herald R. Clark, manager of the Student Supply association, asso-ciation, declared as he turned over the paraphernalia, that the Cougars will be one of the best equipped football foot-ball organizations in the west. With the addition of twenty-four new outfits of first class order the Cougars will be able to equip very well all the men who care to try out for either the varsity or the frosh team. Captain "Rip" Gledhill stood by and sized up the youngsters who applied ap-plied for suits. "A likely looking crew," he declared, de-clared, "as measured the bone and brawn of the youngsters. We'll have difficulty in licking the Frosh this , year." , A number of old veterans such as Gledhill, Paul Packard, Golden . "Kid" Romney. Wick Mendenhall, Cornell Mendenhall. Merrill Bunnell '7 and a number of others are prepar- , ing to go out for another season of football. Hunter Manson. contrary to re- ports, will be back in a "Y" uniforrr this year. It was reported that Hunt was going east with Dixon, but Hunt says, "Nothin' doin'. I'll be here. The "Y" looks good to me for a while." .Even though the registration was very heavy Mondny not more than twenty or thirty men actually got Into suits Monday afternoon. Manv were getting located in homes anil many were too strange to try on the new uniforms. It is expected that a large group will get out Tuesday. |
