Show I ROBERTSONS ARE HONORED Home-Coming Celebrated for Returning Head L. D. S. Japanese Mission. A home coming entertainment was given at the Opera house last Friday Fri-day evening by the Springville Fourh ward in honor of .Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Robertson who have recently re-cently returned from a three year mission to Japan, for the L. D. S. church. The program was in charge of Lindsay Parker and consisted of the following numbers: selections from a ladies quartet composed of Helen Palfreynmn, Margie Parker, Helen Salisbury and Inez Wheeler; community com-munity singing led by Chimney H. Childs; selections from a male quartet, quar-tet, composed of Lindsay Parker, Cornell Mendenhall, Howard Thorn and Frank Salisbury; a reading by Mrs. Eliza Thorn; a talk by Bishop G. It. Haycock ; a cello solo by C. H. Childs ; a stunt by the M. I. A. girls, dressed in old fashioned costumes. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson dressed in Japanese costumes gave an interesting interest-ing account of tile Japanese customs. The evenings entertainment was completed, with dancing of the old time dances and the serving of refreshments. . MAPLETON NEWS j Miss Melba Tew has returned from Salt Lake City where she has spent the past summer working and has gone to Provo where she will attend the university. Dolbert Hopla has gone to Los Angeles for the winter. Ted Whiting has gone to Moroni to visit with his parents. Warren S. Tew and family are visiting in Mnpleton with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Tew. Miss Madge Johnson Is going to Salt Lake City to attend the Keys-ter Keys-ter Sewing School this winter. Miss Hannah Carrick. Miss Lily Murdock, Miss Melba Tew. Lenord CaHister, Ted Bushman and Alton Hayes motored from Provo to attend at-tend the dance at Mnpleton Tuesday Tues-day evening. Rulon- Wilkins and Miss Lorna Whiting motored to Arrowhead Sunday evening. |
