Show TAXES BECOME DELINQUENT NOVEMBER 29 42,000 Tax Notices Mailed to Taxpayers of County Tuesday. Tax notices of Utah, county were completed Tuesday and sent to the respective taxpayers of the county. Approximately 42,000 tax notices had been mailed Tuesday afternoon, according to Henry Jeppson, county treasurer. The making out of the tax notices have required the intensive application applica-tion of 36 women during the past eight days, night shifts being necessary neces-sary to complete the wort in time. Taxes became due Monday and will be delinquent Saturday, November Novem-ber 29 at noon. Taxes must be in the office of the county trensurei at that time whether mailed or brought to the office by person. All delinquent taxpayers must pay an additional three per cent in penalty, pen-alty, according to the state laws governing gov-erning the collection of taxes. It is anticipated that there will he collected from the 1024 taxes in Utah county $1,010,101. SO. This includes in-cludes the taxes for all state purposes pur-poses including the state road tax. The levies in the thre school districts dis-tricts vary, but are lower than those of the previous year. Nebo district has the greatest reduction with five mills. The Provo district levy is 3.20 mills lower than the 1923 levy, while the Alpine levy has been reduced 1.61 mills. The levy in the Nebo district, exclusive ex-clusive of" any of the city taxes in the district, is 21.23 mills. The Alpine Al-pine levy, exclusive of the city levies in the district is 25.72 mills. The Provo lew, including the Provo city levy, is 30.23 mills, the city levy being 12 mills. The largest taxpayer in Utah county is the Denver and Rio Grande Western railroad company which has extensive property holdings hold-ings in the county, especially in the Nebo school district. The Tintic Standard Mining company com-pany is the next highest taxpayer in the county, the company owning large interests In the Dividend min- ing section and also a mill between Goshen and Santnquin. The largest individual tax notice Is one of those for the Tintic Standard Stand-ard Mining company and is for $153, 902.42. The company has several sev-eral other notices covering large amounts. The next largest notice is one of the many for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad company. This notice is for $!)5.63S.SS. A comparison between the assessed as-sessed valuaton of the Tintic Standard Stand-ard Mining company and that of the six largest cities of the county, outside out-side of Provo, shows that the valuation valua-tion of the mining company is al most as large as the combined valua tion of those communities. According to Don Conover, depntj county assessor, the assessed valuation valua-tion of the Tintic Standard Mining company is $7,7S7,051. The total valuation of the six largest cities in the county, with the exception of Provo, is 7,SSt).55S, or only 101,004 more than that of the mining company. com-pany. The assessed valuation of the cities is as follows: Springville, S1.0S1.774; Spanish Fork, $1,323,- 937; Payson. $1,294,146; Lehi, $1,- 19G.0S0; American Fork. $1,5S5,7S4; Pleasant Grove, $S07,237. It is also interesting to note that in the Nebo school district the corporate cor-porate property pays 67 per cent of ' all the school taxes, |
