Show SPRINGVILLE IN I FALL FESTIVAL Citv Council Decides That Springville Will Participate. Par-ticipate. Springville will participate in the Utah County Fall Festival which is to be held in Provo September Septem-ber 23-2-1-25,- according to the decision de-cision of the Springville City council coun-cil in an adjourned session held Wednesday evening, September 17. An appropriation was made by the council to pay the cities' expenses expen-ses of fixing up a float to enter the parade on the third day of the festival. fes-tival. Provisions were also made to see that the agricultural interests of the city were represented on' the display at the court house. Councilman Coun-cilman J. F. Smith was sustained as the representative of the council to see that everything was executed in a proper manner. A recommendation was adopted that the Springville city pasture be closed on the ISth day of October, and all stock be taken out. Upon a recommendation from the cemetery committee it was decided that no additional lands to the cemetery ceme-tery would be purchased by the city for at least another year. Councilman Harmer reported that 200 acre feet of Strawberry water had been rented from the government govern-ment to finish the irrigating season and that if it did not rain within a few days 300 additional acre feet would have to he rented. Councilman Smart reported that the bridge near the railroad tracks over hobble creek on fourth west had been graveled and put in good shape, and that the bridge on Fourth East would be completed soon. City electrician, W. N. Grooms, stated to the council that the dam in the left hand fork of Hobble creek canyon needed repairing and that if repaired this fall the Fish fish and game organization of Springville wanted to cooperate and biuld a fish run over the dam. The matter was left until an investigation in-vestigation can be made. A license was granted to the Well-worth Well-worth Chain Stores company and to George S. Reynolds, for a cafe. |
