Show Aviation Progresses : ' Last year, of course, was the. greatest m the history Of aviation. Not so spectacular, perhaps, as 1927, when Lindbergh lyade his great flight, but showing a far more eteady: definite growth. 1 ' ' Seventy-five millions worth of aircraft and equipment vras built in the United States in 1928. Five thousand air-1 eraft, 8500 airplane enginees were turned out. That's a lot of business, big business, and yet it was a mere beginning; j 1929 will be a better year, by far. I Kansas continued to lead in the quantity of airplanes manufactured, in 1928. - New York came next. Its planes, though fewer in number, totaled a greater value, in fact, than Kansas. Ohio was third, then Missouri. The Middle West seems to have taken a firm lead in airplane production. |
